THAT’S why you play the game. After going up 2-0 in San Francisco last weekend, the Reds traveled home to Great American Ballpark needing just one win. A place where they held the best home record in the majors. Did I mention it was a place where they simply had to win one game out of three. ONE GAME. We know how it ended. It may just have been the worst week in Cincinnati sports history. Couple that with the week the Bengals had, I honestly believe this was THE WORST SPORTS Week ever.
In this week’s show:
David and Seubs look back at the week that was, an ugly one
Would you have started Latos in Game 4? Hindsight is 20/20.
Game 5. Pull Latos with the bases loaded facing Posey? Again, hindsight is 20/20.
Reds announce a 2 year contract extension for manager Dusty Baker
How many of you saw the Reds heading out west to start the 2012 Postseason and thought they’d win two games at AT&T Park? I know I didn’t. Especially with the way the offense was performing over the last 3 weeks of the season. Then Johnny Cueto lasts all of 8 pitches in Game 1. Yeah, 8! Still the Reds find themselves with a commanding lead as they head home Tuesday for Game 3.
In this week’s show:
We welcome in a special guest, Jason Harbison from the Redlegs Radio Report makes a return trip to the podcast.
This was our first podcast since Homer Bailey’s no hitter so we told our No-hit sob stories
The Reds postseason has been dynamite so far
Todd Frazier is the odd man out….at the moment
Who would you want the Reds to face in the next round? The Cards or the Nats?
Congratulations to the Cincinnati Reds! The Reds clinched their 10th division championship with a 6-0 victory over the LA Dodgers on Saturday afternoon. It was a very interesting weekend to say the least. Obviously there were some things beyond people’s control however at least every one now knows about the TV show “Cruise In”. In [...]
The Reds went a quiet 5-2 last week sweeping their NL Central rivals Pittsburgh essentially ending all hope of a division title for the Buccos. Despite losing 2 out of 3 to the Miami Marlins in the fishtank, the Reds managed to drop their Magic Number to 5 games giving them a chance to clinch [...]
After going 2-4 last week against teams below .500, the Reds kickoff a big series in Cincy with a win over the Pirates Monday night. We recorded episode 25 on Sunday night, fresh off the Reds 5-1 loss to the Astros. In this week’s show: David and I look back at the week that was [...]
Last week wasn’t the best week for the Reds splitting one series in Philly and losing 2 out of 3 to those dreaded Cards. But the bright side is that they’re still just 2 losses behind the Nationals for the best record in baseball. Who would have thought? In this week’s show: David and I [...]
Everyone by now has heard the stories of Ryan Ludwick’s “brother” so its fitting that the Reds are now kicking off a series in Philly. The next 4 games are going to be tough for the Reds as they go up against Halladay, Lee and Hamels. In this week’s show: David and I look back [...]
Well last week wasn’t the best in Reds history both on and off the field however they managed to pick their game back up and took 3 of 4 against the Cubbies. We had a very special guest join us as well on the podcast. Kristine from the Fox Sports Ohio Girls In this week’s [...]
The Reds took two out of three against the Pirates last weekend and three out of four against the Padres which extended their run of wins to 22 out of their last 26 games. That is insane! Only one other Reds team had previously won 22 out of 25, the 1975 Big Red Machine. Go [...]
David and Seubs were very fortunate this week to be granted access to the pressbox at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, OH as the Louisville Bats visited the Mudhens. Unfortunately we recorded this BEFORE both the Reds and Bats lose Monday night. We still had an awesome time and thanks to Matt Andrews the play-by-play [...]
You often hear his name mentioned during the Reds telecasts, Joel Luckhaupt joins us to talk Reds and being a statistician. Check him out on Twitter @jluckhaupt and go read his book The Wire to Wire Reds. Pick it up at Amazon.com today!
Fitting title for this week’s show. Joey Votto out for 4 weeks with a torn meniscus. Having surgery this week. What will the Reds do in his absence? In this week’s show: Why did Votto continue to play if he was injured on June 29th? Why did he play in the All-Star Game? Who should [...]

Well well well, last week stunk for Reds fans. After winning 6 straight, the Reds followed that up by losing 5 of their next 6 games, both against teams with losing records. However it was great to see Mat Latos bounce back tonight against the Brew Crew. In this week’s show: Mat Latos strikes out [...]
After sweeping the Tribe last week in Cincinnati, the Reds trip to the Mistake by the Lake got off to a rocky start Monday night as Mat Latos only goes 4 innings and gives up a few longballs. In this week’s show: Derek Lowe vs Dusty Baker, Round 2 was Much Ado about Nothing People [...]
Once again there is a debate in Reds country about the opposing teams packing our home turf. The Detroit Tigers fans were very loud and very proud, particularly on Sunday night. Here we go again. In this week’s show: The weekend series vs the Tigers Was Jose Valverde throwing spitballs? You decide for yourself! Last [...]
In a way I’m thankful that Fox decided to show the Yankees Tigers game here in Northwest Ohio last night because I would have broken two remotes throwing them across the room during the 12-9 win over the Astros. It also allowed David and I to record Episode 12!. Plus we’re also joined by fellow [...]
Some fan Monday night at GABP caught two homeruns, count em, TWO HOMERUNS! Hope he bought a lotto ticket on his way home. If you listen to us on iTunes we would certainly appreciate if you would leave a review! In this week’s show: The 4-3 Road Trip and taking 2 of 3 from the [...]

The bats for the Cincinnati Reds went quiet on Saturday night vs. the Pirates but they came to life Sunday afternoon as the Reds won 5-0 and took the series from Pittsburgh. Mat Latos struck out a career high 11 batters on Sunday and looked like the frontline starting pitcher the Reds traded for this [...]

Joey Votto’s turning things around, Rolen had 2 HR’s this week and Drew Stubbs was a whole new ballplayer this week! If you listen to us on iTunes we would certainly appreciate if you would [...]
The Reds are FINALLY home after a 10 game roadie where they went 4-6 but they did wrap it up by taking 2 of 3 from the Cubbies. This week we had Jason Harbison of the Redleg Radio Report join in the fun to talk about the 2012 Reds! If you listen to us on [...]
Last week wasn’t your best example of Reds baseball, losers of 2 out of 3 vs the Cardinals, losers of 3 out of 4 against the Nationals. At 4-6, this couldn’t possibly have been the start Bob Castellini and Walt Jocketty were expecting. The Reds offense is in shambles, but hey at least they’re pitching! [...]
Another week, another Reds player signs a long term big money extension! This time its DatDude, aka Brandon Phillips for 6 more years and 72.5 million large! Also if you do subscribe and listen to us on iTunes we would certainly appreciate if you would leave a review! In this week’s show: Breaking down the [...]
