Podcast Your Passion

by Nick Seuberling on June 11, 2012

I always admire the people out there who want to start a podcast. It takes courage to get behind that microphone for the first time and talk. The question I get asked the most when podcasting is “How does it work?”. I tell people that I’ve been podcasting for years and even I still don’t have answers. I can tell them how to set it up, I can tell them the technical details involved. I can get their show in iTunes and other podcast directories. But none of that matters if you’re just podcasting to podcast.

The golden rule when it comes to having any success with your podcast? You MUST PODCAST YOUR PASSION. Trust me, I’ve failed at a lot of podcasts and I always wonder why they never take off. That’s because I wasn’t podcasting my passion. Yeah I love sports, but what am I REALLY passionate about? What gets my juices flowing instantly? What is it that I think about when I get up in the morning, and go to bed at night?

Some podcasts talk about football, baseball, soccer, technology, entertainment, online poker tournaments. But most of the time these shows podfade because the hosts or the guys talking about the topic aren’t truly passionate about the subject.

So that is my advice for the day, PODCAST YOUR PASSION and the rest will take care of itself.
